Bacchus Marsh Civic Precinct

Council owns an 11,500sqm site on the main street of Bacchus Marsh which could be reimagined into a lively civic precinct in the heart of town, creating a focal point for commercial and community activities within Moorabool.

This urban revitalisation and regeneration project would inject new life into the township, attracting workers, customers and visitors to the town centre to access a range of new and enticing social, cultural and commercial services and infrastructure.

The site is situated in the historic main street and commercial centre of Bacchus Marsh, and has direct physical and visual connection to the Avenue of Honour town gateway and the orchards and farmlands surrounding it.

Council has commenced a Bacchus Marsh Town Centre Structure Plan. The purpose of the structure plan is to establish a framework for guiding land use and development within the Bacchus Marsh Town Centre, with a particular focus on four key themes:

  • Activation of Main Street
  • Unlocking key development sites
  • Improving the relationship between Main Street and the train station
  • Establishing a Civic Precinct to act as a catalyst for change and investment.
