Council is committed to good governance and ensures its decision-making processes are fair and merit-based.
Council serves the needs of the entire community. We balance competing interests in a timely, appropriate, and responsive manner.
Community wellbeing results from collaboration and consideration of all parties. Residents, businesses, and community groups play a vital role in our decision-making processes.
Anyone affected by or interested in a decision must have the opportunity to participate in the process of making that decision.
Reflecting this commitment, our rules are guided by the governance principles contained in the Local Government Act 2020.
You can view the latest version on the Victorian Legislation website.
Our Governance Rules came into effect on 1 November 2023.
