Delegations and Authorisations

Instruments of Delegation

Delegations involve the transfer of a Council's power, duty, or function to its staff members through a formal process. This approach significantly enhances decision-making efficiency, allowing Council staff to perform essential services and handle routine administrative tasks effectively.

Council employs various 'instruments' to assign its powers, duties, or functions. These instruments are vital for the Council's operations, as they provide the necessary authority for officers to act and make critical decisions on behalf of the Council.
