Community satisfaction survey

As part of our promise to you and in line with our Customer Charter, we recognise the importance of a great experience for all. Our annual Community Satisfaction Survey is your chance to give us feedback so we can keep improving. We also survey you after we resolve your enquiry, if you provide us your email.

Each year a state-wide community satisfaction survey is carried out throughout Victoria local governments. Participation in this survey is optional, but we believe strongly in its value.

Key findings

  • Moorabool Shire Council’s overall performance score is not significantly different from last year, but is now at its lowest level (index score 49) in 10 years. Perceptions of performance across most service areas have held steady on last year’s result. Upholding strong performance with customer service and waste management will be important, particularly given the moderate to strong impact that the latter has on perceptions of overall performance.
  • On overall council direction, Council rates significantly higher than the Large Rural group of councils. This was identified as one of the top areas needing improvement in the 2023 survey.
  • Moorabool has improved in 4 of the 15 services compared to the previous year  however saw a decline in other service areas. Improvements were recorded in the service areas of customer service, family support services, the appearance of local roads and footpaths, and overall council direction.

  • The maintenance of unsealed roads, a new measure added to the survey in 2024, and the condition of sealed local roads were the lowest performance areas.

Top three areas for improvement

  • Sealed road maintenance
  • Recreational/sporting facilities
  • Community consultation.
