If you are impacted by dementia, Dementia Australia’s Brain Hubs can connect you to the information, education and support you need.
The free Brain Hub sessions are available to anyone who wants to learn about dementia, including local residents and health care providers.
Our timetable for the day will include:
- 9am: Welcome
- 9.30am to 10.30am: Presentation by Dr. Mark Yates on local Cognitive Dementia and Memory Service (CDAMS), with an interactive Q&A session at the end.
- 10.45am to 1pm: Information session on Understanding Dementia (with a 15-minute break mid-way).
- 1.15pm to 2pm: Free light lunch available and expo with local services.
- 2pm to 2.45pm: Information session on Creating a Dementia-Friendly Community.
- 2.45pm to 3.15pm: Presentation by Louise Mayall: Advisor in Healthy Ageing.
- 3.15pm to 4pm: Information session on advocacy and Dementia Australia's Connecting Peers program.
- 4pm to 4.30pm: Presentation by Community Health Nurses Heather Barker & Helen Borg.
- 4.30pm: Official close
Please note ticket registration will allow access to the days activities, you are welcome to attend one or all of the sessions above.

More About our Speakers:
Dr Mark Yates is a consultant Geriatrician in the Cognitive, Dementia and Memory Service (CDAMS) and the Residential in Reach Service at Grampians Health, Ballarat and a Clinical Associate Professor at Deakin University.
Community Health Nurses service works out of Western Health Melton location and covers Melton and Moorabool shires. The nurses support individuals with memory concerns through education, strategies, care coordination, and future planning. They also work with families to support their family members.
Suitable for: Members of the public who want to learn more about dementia, or are concerned that they or someone they know may have dementia.

Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
