Moorabool Shire Council Mayor Cr Ally Munari will host an Australian Citizenship Ceremony on Saturday 20 July 2024 commencing at 11.00am. The Ceremony will see 56 adults and 16 children proudly receive official Australian Citizenship.
New Australian citizens demonstrate an understanding and acceptance of Australian values, dedication and commitment to Australia by becoming official citizens at ceremonies held around the country.
Our newest citizens have travelled from countries across the globe including India, New Zealand, Zimbabwe, United Kingdom, Albania, Ireland, Philippines, Russian Federation, Thailand, Italy, Samoa, North Macedonia, Ethiopia, Vietnam, United States, China and Brazil.
Mayor Cr Munari said the event is a significant event in Council’s calendar and is an opportunity to reflect on the privilege of Australian citizenship and what it means to be Australian.
“It’s a fantastic opportunity for us to give a warm welcome to our newest citizens and acknowledge the importance of what it means to become a full member of the Australian community. There is no greater privilege than our citizenship. It’s a life-long commitment to Australia’s values of freedom, democracy, equality and respect,” Cr Ward said.
Cr Munari said citizenship is the common bond uniting all Australians, whether you are a citizen by birth or by choice.
“I congratulate those becoming Australian citizens on making their commitment to Australia” Cr Munari said.
