Need somewhere to go to keep cool on Boxing Day, when the forecast is set to hit high 30s? With an extreme fire danger rating declared for the day, Council is opening a respite centre on Thursday 26 December from 10am to 6pm at the back of Council offices - enter via Edols St, into the old Ballan depot. Tea, coffee, water and air-conditioning will be available. This is a good place to come for residents who are enacting their fire plans to leave early.
