Council is celebrating all the exceptional volunteers in Moorabool with a barbecue during National Volunteer Week, 20-26 May.
The barbecue will be on Wednesday 22 May at The Village Green in Bacchus Marsh from 11.30am to 2pm. Volunteers and community members are invited to attend.
Mayor Cr Ali Munari said it was wonderful to have the opportunity to formally recognise and thank volunteers. Community members are also invited to find out about volunteering in the shire.
“People volunteer to give back, to do something good, to contribute to their community – but rarely do they receive an official thank you,” Cr Munari said.
“So this National Volunteer Week, we say a massive thank you to all those who volunteer in our communities, through organisations, sporting groups, healthcare, heritage, environment, tourism and a range of other areas. Our volunteers contribute in significant ways to making Moorabool a great place to be.
“Keep an eye on our Facebook page for a suite of videos created by Council staff highlighting the work done by some of our fabulous volunteers.”
