Healthy eating and active living
Moorabool Shire Council encourages a healthy and active lifestyle for the community. Residents can enjoy various sporting and recreation facilities such as recreation reserves, walking trails, parks, pools, and open spaces. Increasing physical activity, reducing sugary drinks, and eating more fruits and vegetables are priorities within our Health and Wellbeing Plan.

Active living
Why not check out a walking group within Moorabool? Here are some useful resources, apps, and organisations to help you get active:
Walk to school month and Active April
Thanks to funding from VicHealth, Council supports local schools to partake in the Walk to School Month event (in October). They encourage families and children to scoot, ride, or walk to school every day throughout the month.
Visit the Walk to School website to read the latest and download a worksheet.
Why not get active in April? Spend just 30 minutes every day and sign up for Active Victoria’s Active April.
This Girl Can campaign
Get inspired and read how other women are getting active! This Girl Can celebrates getting active no matter who you are, where you are, and when you want to get active!
Healthy eating
A healthy community is a strong community. No matter what your situation, there are always options and support to help you make the right choices. Not to mention, it is a great way to meet like-minded people in the Shire!
The Community Group Listings is a great starting point to explore the many wonderful food and garden groups.
Council also encourages sports clubs and facilities to help patrons increase water intake and reduce the consumption of sugary drinks. Above all we want to help you make healthy lifestyle choices.
