Many items can be recycled into new products, saving valuable resources, energy, and landfill space. A cost may be associated with some disposal or recycling services – contact the provider first to check.

- Contact your local Op Shop – find out if they accept working electronic items
- Recycle at a Moorabool Shire Transfer Station

Never put any electronic item in a household bin, e-waste is banned from landfill and is a contaminant in the recycling bin.

Laptops

- Contact your local Op Shop – find out if they accept working electronic items
- Reuse by selling, swapping, giving away or donating. Try eBay, Gumtree or local Buy Swap Sell pages
- Contact Bacchus Marsh Rotary: Western Emergency Relief Network (WERN) to see if this item is accepted
- Recycle as e-waste at a Moorabool Shire Transfer Station (no cost)

Leaves

- Recycle in your optional green waste bin (urban areas) (lime green lid)
- Recycle at a Moorabool Transfer Station (fees apply)
- Recycle in your home compost bin

Light bulbs/tubes

Recycle light globes (no cost) at the sorting stations at:
- Lerderderg Library, Main Street, Bacchus Marsh
- Ballan Council Office, 15 Stead Street, Ballan
- Darley Council Office, 182 Halletts Way, Darley

- Recycle at a Moorabool Shire Transfer Station (no cost)
- Recycle through Detox Your Home

Lolly wrappers (plastic / plastic with foil)

- Dispose in your garbage bin (red lid)
- Dispose at a Moorabool Shire Transfer Station (fees apply)

Lunch boxes (plastic)

- If numbered 1, 2 or 5 - recycle in your recycling bin (yellow lid) or take to a Moorabool Shire Transfer Station
- If numbered 3,4,6,7 dispose in your garbage bin (red lid) or take to a Moorabool Shire Transfer Station (fees apply)
- Reuse to store food or household items
- Reuse to store food, toys, or tools, or by donating to your local charity/op-shop
